Event Description

W-Tech is a FREE one day recruitment, career development and networking event for female technologists including students, postgraduates, experienced professionals and returners to work. The event was originally scheduled to take place on the 3rd February but unfortunately it was snowed off and is now taking place on Wednesday 24th June 2009.

You can attend during the day, for the evening networking or for both parts of the event so if you are interested in coming along, please register online at wtech-event.co.uk.

The event is FREE to attend and from 11am there will be a recruitment fair and employer exhibition running alongside a packed programme of career development and technology talks, workshops and seminars including How to Behave in an All Male Team, Managing Your Online Profile, Interacting with Technology – by Text, Face, Voice and Touch and Green Data Centres & Utility Computing. Registrants can attend up to six sessions which are running from 12pm.

Places are offered on a first come first served basis so register as soon as you can to make sure you can attend the sessions you're most interested in!

From 6pm, there will be a networking event (similar in style to the womenintechnology networking events we run) that's going to be a 'must attend' networking opportunity for everyone interested in and involved with 'Women in IT'.

The theme for the formal part of the evening will be 'achieving in the technology profession’ and we are bringing together a panel of successful women working in IT who will share their own career experiences and take questions from the audience.
Confirmed speakers are:
• Jo Alma, Head of IMD Technology for Europe & Asia at Goldman Sachs
• Lis Astall, MD Public Service in Europe, Africa & Latin America at Accenture
• Fiona Capstick, Vice President, Geographic Integration Executive, Office of the CIO at IBM
• Punita Gajree, Head of Stakeholder Relations, Strategy, Stakeholder Relations and Planning at London 2012
• Karen Winney, Director, Business Services UK Ireland & Nordic at Procter & Gamble

People can attend during the day, for the evening networking or for both parts of the event - everyone is welcome but they need to register online at wtech-event.co.uk.

If you have any questions at all, or if you are an employer who might be interested in exhibiting at the event, please don't hesitate to contact Maggie Berry on 020 7422 9214 or Jan Peters on 0797 4011278 who are the event directors.

Maggie Berry is Director of womenintechnology.co.uk – mberry@womenin.co.uk
Jan Peters is Manager of the BCS Women’s Forum - jan.peters@katalytik.co.uk

A friend from Uni gave me heads up on this so both Maria and I will be there. Looks like some fun workshops. If anyone else is gpoing please shout me - it'd be lovely to meet you live
